Hello All,
As the first post of the Back to Health Chiropractic blog site, I will post some things that are getting exceptional results in our office in addition to the 'normal' or traditional ailments treated by a chiropractor. In future post, I will focus on opening the door wider into the chiropractic realm to explain some deeper explaination of chiropractic beyond just pain relief.
So, first of all, I am very excited that many people are finding out that my office can help with 4 areas of symptoms outside the usual backand neck pain. First is:
PREGNANCY PAIN
Those of you that are pregnant may know or will soon to know that back pain is inevitable sometime in your pregnancy. When that occurs, what have you found to be your options? Heat? Tylenol? Massage? You have found out that your baby doctor is no help. She will say, 'No, no, no. No drugs for you.' You may have found out heat don't cut it, tylenol doesn't even touch it and you don't feel like exposing your naked body at this time in your life to a stranger.
You really have stress on your hip joints due to the ever increasing anterior weight in your abdomen. In other words, as your baby gets bigger, your hips get more stress on the joints. This stress is causing your back muscles to go into spasm and before you know it, you have day after day back pain. Let's hope it hasn't progress so far as to cause you to have pain into your leg. I as a chiropractor, just take the stress off your hip joints. You feel relief quickly and is very safe. No pills, no getting naked.
I have told my pregnant patients that if you make your visits regular and consistent, you may be able to decrease your labor time by 1/3 when the big day finally comes. The average time a woman is in labor with her first child is 7 hours. That is from the first rythmic contraction until the baby is born. One third of 7 hours is, well you can see it is short. And the best part is you don't have back pain on top of your labor pain.
Look into it more. Ask your baby doctor. They will be happy you asked because they are helpless to assist you and are concerned about your pain. You will find that they will encourage you to try it.
In my next post, I will discuss one of the remaining three subspecialties treated in my office:
